F.A.Q

Below is a list of the most common questions our clients ask about wigs and wig care. To get the answer, just click on the question or simply scroll down to see all the questions and their answers.

1.  How can I choose a wig?

One of the ways we recommend first-time wig shoppers choose a wig, is to make a selection that best complements their facial shape. While some facial shapes look good with any wig, most must be carefully matched to a wig. By following these simple guidelines below, you'll be able to find the wig that brings out the true beauty in your face.

Please remember, these are merely general guidelines. They may or may not work for you depending on your features, coloring and personal style. As you become more comfortable with what works with your face, body and style, you'll be able to make even better choices in wig and hair styles. As always, if you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

Oval Face

Oval Face

Oval shaped face is considered one of the most versatile because almost all wigs will look flattering. Any style, be it long, short, curly, or straight will look natural and pretty.

Round Face

Round Face

Neat bobs are not recommended for those who have a round shaped face - it will only make your face look fuller. The goal is to slim your face. Some of the styles that you should look for are wigs that will frame your face and have height at the crown.

Square Face

Square Face

If your face is square shaped, blunt-clipped bangs should be avoided because it will make your face look even more angular. If you want to wear bangs, try the wigs that have wispy or fringed bangs. If you don’t want to have bangs, a side part will suit you best instead of a center part. The key is to soften the edges of your face - this can be done best by wearing a style close to your face (i.e., soft layers in the front).

Heart-Shaped Face

Heart-Shaped Face

Your shape is an upside down triangle, meaning there is very little of your face at the jaw line and more at the brow line. You want to look for a wig that doesn’t have height at the crown and the sides (area around your ears) but have fullness at the bottom. Chin length with bangs swept to the side will look perfect.

Oblong Face

Oblong Face

Your shape is long and thin with a narrow chin. Avoid wigs that are long and hanging, or those that have a layered cut. It will only make your face seem lengthier. The aim is to add width to your face. Curly or wavy wigs will do just that. Hair length that reaches to the middle of your neck will look best on you.

2.   Can I use hair styling products on my wig?

In most cases, yes. To style wigs; hair sprays, gels, mousse etc. can be used since wigs are washable. Hair dyes and bleaches may also be used, but only on human hair wigs and extensions. Dyes and bleaches will not work on synthetic hair products and may damage the hair strands.

3.  How often should I wash my wig?

We recommend washing a wig every fourth day it is worn. So, if you wear your wig every day, you should wash it about twice a week. In summer time, you

4.  How should I wash my wig?

Before washing, brush gently to untangle (if any) and wash with cool water.

Soak hair using mild shampoo and rinse thoroughly.

Do not brush hair while it is wet.

Lay hair on a flat surface until it is completely dry.

Shake hair and style by brushing.

5.  Can I style my wig (or extension) using a curling iron, hair dryer or other hot tools?

That depends on what type of hair your wig or extension is made from. Human hair products may be styled just as you would style your normal hair. The wig caps are also designed to withstand styling by hot tools (with the exception of skin-like caps, which may melt under excess heat). Synthetic hair products should not be exposed to any heat or hot tools as these will melt or damage the synthetic hair strands.

6.  How should I store my wig when I am not wearing it?

The best way to store wigs is to place the wig on a styrofoam or plastic mannequin head with a hair net over it so that the style of the wig can be preserved. Wigs can also be kept in a hair net and in a plastic bag (which usually comes with the wig) when it isn’t being worn.

7.  How can I detangle my wig and give some extra shine?

Any sheen sprays or wig sprays can be used to detangle and give shine to wigs. This is especially good for long haired and tight curled wigs.

8.  Do wigs come in different sizes?

Most of wigs are standard average size. But some wigs are made for petite or big size. The average full wigs usually come with adjustable straps in the back side of wig. These straps allow the cap of the wig to adjust to the size of your head for a great fit.

9.  What else can I do to ensure the secure fit of my wig?

The adjustable straps can be used to make a wig quite tight on your head so that, in most cases, it would be hard for it to fall off. If you want extra security, wigs can be further secured by using bobby pins through the wig or at the edges of the wig. If you have no hair, double-sided tape can also be used for extra security, but may not be used if there is any hair at all on the scalp.

10. What is the best way for me to wear a wig if I have long hair?

There are two options that work quite well for our clients with longer hair. Some of our clients wrap their hair around their head and pin it in place underneath their wigs. You can also wear a wig cap (a head cap that may be worn underneath wigs). The wig cap fits tightly (but comfortably) over your hair and keeps your hair in place.

11. Do I have to wear a wig cap?

Using a wig cap is mainly a matter of personal preference. Most of our clients, whether they have long or short hair, prefer to use wig caps because it holds the hair in place better and helps to keep the wig cleaner. In some instances, it may also prevent hair breakage due to the wig cap rubbing against the scalp. Wig caps are also quite useful if you have longer hair.

12. What is the best thing to do for the hairline when wearing a wig without bangs?

The best thing is to leave front of your hair out partially in the front then blend it into the wig so that your own hair line is shown. This can be done when your own hair and the wig hair color are same or similar each other. Usually, wigs without bangs have little baby hairs in the front or have a skin-like cap so that the wig will look as real as possible.

13. How can I remove the shine from my wig?

If you find your wig is too shiny for your tastes, lightly apply baby powder to the wig with a powder puff. Then, shake any excess powder from the wig.

14. Do wigs look identical as they are pictured?

The wigs will be sent to you as we receive them from the manufacturer. They are packaged flat to save on shipping costs. When you receive your wig, it should be shaken or combed out in accordance with the instructions on our website. The wigs you see pictured on our site have been shaken out and styled with a comb or brush and, in some cases, a quick mist of water. We refrained from using any products (gel, mousse, hair spray, etc) in the pictures we took to give you the best possible idea of how the wigs will look when you receive them. This is also the reasoning behind showing each wig from 5 different angles. If you ever have any questions on how a wig will look when you receive it or how you can style it, feel free to ask us.

15. How do I know what size wig to choose?

Wigs should be worn on your natural hairline in both the front and the back.  The average wig size will fit most customers.  If your measurements don't match exactly to the chart, choose the larger size.  All wigs have adjustable Velcro or hooks straps that can do small adjustments.

Before you measure, make sure to flatten your hair, use a cloth tape measure and do not pull the tape measure, just rest it over or around your head. Pulling stretches the tape and will give you the wrong size.

1. Measure around your head at the hairline. The "around your head" size of every wig can be adjusted up to 1" larger or smaller to ensure a secure fit. The tape should be just above the ear and along your natural hairline

2. Measure your head from the nape over the crown to the top of your forehead where your natural hairline is.

3. Measure your head from the top of one ear, across the top of the head (crown) and to the top of the other ear.
